How does planting work?
Most plants that die in the first year die from how they went in the ground: a hole too small, soil left unimproved, planted too deep, or no watering plan for the first month.
We prepare the hole and soil properly, plant at the right depth, water in, stake where it's needed and mulch around the base, then give you a clear watering plan for the establishment period.
Screening plants, hedges, trees, shrubs, natives and seasonal colour are all standard work.

Planting, your questions answered
Do you supply the plants?
We can supply and plant, or plant what you've already bought. If we're supplying, we'll go through the options and cost with you before ordering.
What's the best time of year to plant?
Autumn and spring are usually kindest, roots establish before the extremes. Planting in the middle of summer can work with careful watering, but we'll be upfront about the extra risk.
How often should I have this done?
It depends on the job and the season, lawns and hedges want a regular rhythm through the warmer months, while bigger garden work is usually a once or twice a year thing. We will suggest an interval that suits your yard, and on a Golden Circle Membership plan we track the timing so it never gets forgotten.
Do I need to be home while you work?
Not necessarily. As long as we can get to the yard and to an outdoor tap if the job needs water, plenty of our residential work is done while you're out, we confirm everything beforehand and send photos when it's finished.
Are you fully insured?
Yes, Golden Landscaping is fully insured, and we're owner-operated, so the person who quotes your job is the person responsible for the result.
Is the quote really free and fixed?
Yes. Quotes are free and fixed, you'll know the price before we start, with no hourly meter and no surprises on the invoice. A quick call with a couple of photos is usually all we need.
Do you take the green waste away?
Yes. Clippings, prunings and garden debris can be mulched back where that suits, left in your green bin, or taken away with us, just tell us which you would prefer when you book.
