Hedge Trimming
Straight lines, even faces and a hedge that stays dense.

How does hedge trimming work?
A hedge is only as good as its shape. We trim to a clean, even face and keep the top slightly narrower than the base so light reaches the lower growth, that's what stops a hedge going bare and leggy down low.
Screening hedges, formal box, lilly pilly, murraya and photinia all get handled differently, and we cut to suit the species rather than running the same shear over everything.
All clippings are raked, blown and cleared, including out of the garden beds underneath.

FAQ
Hedge Trimming, your questions answered
How often do hedges need trimming?
Most fast-growing screening hedges want two to three trims a year; slower, formal hedges are usually fine with one or two. Regular light trims hold a much better shape than one hard cut.
Can you fix a hedge that's grown out of shape?
Often, yes, but it can take more than one season. Cutting hard back into bare wood doesn't always reshoot depending on the species, so we'll explain what's realistic before we start.
How often should I have this done?
It depends on the job and the season, lawns and hedges want a regular rhythm through the warmer months, while bigger garden work is usually a once or twice a year thing. We will suggest an interval that suits your yard, and on a Golden Circle Membership plan we track the timing so it never gets forgotten.
Do I need to be home while you work?
Not necessarily. As long as we can get to the yard and to an outdoor tap if the job needs water, plenty of our residential work is done while you're out, we confirm everything beforehand and send photos when it's finished.
Are you fully insured?
Yes, Golden Landscaping is fully insured, and we're owner-operated, so the person who quotes your job is the person responsible for the result.
Is the quote really free and fixed?
Yes. Quotes are free and fixed, you'll know the price before we start, with no hourly meter and no surprises on the invoice. A quick call with a couple of photos is usually all we need.
Do you take the green waste away?
Yes. Clippings, prunings and garden debris can be mulched back where that suits, left in your green bin, or taken away with us, just tell us which you would prefer when you book.
